I first met with Erin and Matthew over a few pints to discuss their Fall wedding. During that conversation, they had asked me if I thought it was a good idea to also do engagement photos. Of course, I love doing engagement photos so I gave them some good reasons to schedule a session.

1. Its a fun experience. You get to be in a place you love with the person you love and have freedom to try out ideas, without the pressure of the timeline on a wedding day.
2. You see how I work and I see how a couple looks best together. We get comfortable working together. Before the wedding day you know how to stand so you look best in front of the camera and I know the angles you like best.
3. You'll only be engaged once and it's fun to document this exciting period of life. It's also nice to have non-wedding photos to send to family, to post to social media, to put on Save-The-Dates, to use in a guest book, or to have framed at your wedding.

I enjoyed spending this morning with Erin and Matthew. They are fun to hang out with in a bar after work and in a park (Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, in this case) before work. I like all these photos but I LOVE the ones in the football jerseys. They look like a Nike ad. I think we'll all have a great time at their wedding later this year.
