As luck would have it, we had some decent snow the day before my only winter wedding near DC. As a bitter enemy of cold weather, I've always felt that as long as it's going to be cold out, it might as well be snowing! I really think that the snow helped Erin and I to get a little bit different look for this wedding and also made us focus on our interior shot lighting, so we could still get some unique photos.
Christen and Jonathan had a beautiful ceremony at the historic Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. The inside and outside were both wonderful places for portraits, although we were quick with our outside shots because it was chilly! The reception was held at
The Lodges at Gettysburg, with a nice meal, dancing, and a huge fireworks show midway through.
Erin and I enjoyed spending our day with this thoughtful couple. Even though it was 2 degrees when we left Gettysburg, we were warmed by the thought that we were chosen to document all the special memories that would happen on their first day as husband and wife. We are thankful for clients like these!
