This year I've been doing a lot of traveling for weddings. I love being in a new place and capturing the details of wherever I am. Upstate New York is beautiful in the summertime. I definitely wouldn't want to be there in the winter—but summer is just right. Erin and I ditched the humidity of DC for the weekend to cover a Saturday rehearsal dinner and a Sunday wedding at Vernon Downs Casino & Hotel, just outside of the bride's hometown of Rome, NY.
The union of a large Italian family and a large Jewish family meant that we were getting into a huge party with some big personality. Lauren and Brian kept it classy with dinner, drinks, dancing, a giant vodka luge, cotton candy machine, and late night burgers and milkshakes. We enjoyed hanging with everyone for the weekend and taking photos with this lovable couple.
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
