From the time I first met this couple and Megan described her family's southern Maryland bay house, I knew this would be an awesome wedding. The wedding was right in the backyard, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay on one side and a forest of trees on the other. Not only is it beautiful, but it is a very special place for Marc, Megan and her family with tons of memories made in that spot.
My friend Jamie from
For the Love Photography came all the way from Chicago to help me photograph this wedding, and we started the day with the girls at the house. The ceremony was at
Our Lady's Church in Leonardtown, a historic church and one of the first Catholic congregations (1650s) in America, with the existing building dating from 1817. After the ceremony and a few formal photos I boarded a boat with the bridal party for a cruise around Breton Bay. The bridal party then made their glorious entrance with all the guests waiting on the dock.
After dinner and some of the traditional dances, the band—
The Exclusives—kicked the party into high gear. They played rock, R&B, motown, and some modern hits too, something for everyone. Ryan Hayes and his team from
Blue Canary Events kept the event on schedule and did a great job of helping me to be where I needed to be and with gathering a wild bunch of people for photos.
It was a memorable wedding for me and for Jamie, and definitely memorable for Marc and Megan.
Beautiful!!
