It was starting to look like we were going to miss the cherry blossoms for this session. Stephen is a professional athlete and does a lot of traveling, in addition to having a full schedule while at home. So when those cherry blossoms starting blooming early this year we thought our scheduled session might be too late. But the timing was just right—we caught the end of the peak!
It was a beautiful but slightly chilly day, not enough to ruin our fun, and some of my favorite shots are when Bri & Stephen wrapped up in a blanket to stay warm. We walked around the Jefferson Memorial, the Tidal Basin, and along the Potomac talking about sports and California, where Bri is also from. Besides being a super hot couple, they are also really fun and were not afraid to be themselves in front of the camera.
I left this session recharged from getting outside with my camera after a few weeks of sitting at a computer and writing lots of emails, all the boring stuff. And I left feeling so blessed by the quality of my clients—people like Stephen and Bri who I would spend my time with even if I wasn't working with them.
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
