WASHINGTON DC ENGAGEMENT: HOLLY & BRIAN

For this engagement session with Holly and Brian we managed to do four different looks in one morning and all the locations were a short walk from each other. We started at the Lincoln Memorial with a dressy look, then walked to the edge of the Potomac where some of the trees were showing their fall color. From there we took photos with their books (reflecting their respective fields of study) near the Tidal Basin and ended the session on the sports fields near the FDR Memorial. I had fun making these photos with Holly and Brian and by the look on their faces I think they had fun too.

Fall is a great time for outdoor photography. When Fall comes, it always comes with apprehension of the impending winter, but it's still exciting to put on a jacket and step into the most colorful time of the year. I started this session with Cynthia & Jon at a park along the Potomac, just south of Old Town. It was nice but didn't quite have the colors we were looking for so we kept moving down the George Washington Parkway until Fort Hunt Park. Then—Eureka!—the most beautiful red, yellow, and orange trees to use as a backdrop. This couple is super fun and we had a great time making some photos on a perfect afternoon.
