The weather on this day = HOT. It reached something like 105 degrees. Heather & Ryan = RIDICULOUSLY SMOKING HOT. Like 10,000 degrees Kelvin. These are just a few of them. AND THEY GET BETTER. But you will have to wait a day or two to see more. Keep checking back...
Gary planned an elaborate scavenger hunt o' love for Sterling on Saturday morning at the Smithsonian Castle. Using clues placed in an envelope, she had to find 6 more envelopes before she got to him, the final envelope, and ultimately, a big question to answer. With such a complex plan, Gary enlisted the help of some of his friends to guard the envelopes. The first photo is right after the tasks were divided and each person was about to head to their stations. The next photos are during and right after the proposal (she said yes!) and the final photo is Team Gary celebrating with the happy couple. I love it when a plan comes together!
Last week I had the opportunity to visit the Department of Health and Human Services to take some portraits of two key leaders with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. I was particularly excited about this project because I had just picked up a new portrait lens—the 50mm f/1.4. We didn't have much time due to their busy schedules but I managed to get a few good ones with the 50mm (and a couple speedlights) that their Markeing and PR firm will be able to use. So far, a good investment!
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
