I've wanted to try renting a lockhouse along the C&O Canal ever since I had heard some of them were rentable a year or two ago, and I'm glad that Bridgette and Greg were up for this location. The lock was built in 1830 and I'm guessing the house was built right around then, to house the lock keepers who had to be ready all day and night to help boats navigate the canal. We took some photos outside and then some photos inside, but didn't have to go more than a few steps from one awesome background to another. Bridgette and Greg were up for anything - even standing precariously over the water for a shot - which made for a fun and relaxing session!
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
