Amanda & Bryan and I hit the streets on a crisp Fall day for this engagement session, out and about in DC. There is a lot of emphasis placed on finding the perfect location for portraits, but my experience has shown that some decent light and a couple with personality makes the most difference. We didn't have anywhere specific in mind (besides H Street—where they had their first date) when we started driving through Capitol Hill. We happened upon some cool alleyways and then just had some fun with it, using balloons and autumn leaves to add some color.
Julie and Bryan are a super fun couple that wanted a quick and candid looking engagement session before moving. They literally were packed up and heading out right after this session! To remember their time in DC, we captured a few memories in and around the National Mall.
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
