David proposed to Cassandra by the river in Old Town, so it was an ideal spot to start our engagement session this past week. We began with some bright midafternoon sunlight, which kept us (mostly) warm until the sun dropped below the rooflines, giving us some really nice late afternoon light. At that point I was too jazzed about the photos to think about the cold.

One awesome thing about David & Cassandra: they are really good photo-kissers. There are only a few examples in this blog post—I like to keep it family friendly—but the evidence reveals that they know what they’re doing. The thing is, you might be a good kisser in real life but on camera it often looks sloppy, smushy, or just silly.  The key is the “almost kiss,” that moment right before lips connect or just as they brush together.  That’s when it looks hot. And it’s when you can capture the anticipation and exhilaration that people feel when locking lips with someone they love.
