“Have you ever seen anything like this at a wedding?” I was
asked this many times near the end of Ryan and Shannon’s reception at Foxchase Manor in Manassas. I had not.
By this point the band had finished an encore set, starting
with a tight version of Journey’s “Don’t’ Stop Believin’” and I was sure that
Shannon was going to stage dive into the frenzied crowd of friends and
family—all of whom had been dancing non-stop for the better part of the
evening. We’d done dinner and cake, bouquet and garter tosses, first dance and
a surprise grandfather-granddaughter jitterbug dance. We’d witnessed a touching
ceremony and made it through the many photos with family and the 19(!) people
in the bridal party.
I’m hoping these photos show some of the emotion and
excitement of the day and that they help Ryan and Shannon remember how much fun
everyone had and how much their friends and family love them, participating in
this important step in their life together. Beki and I definitely had fun
taking them.
Thank you Ryan and Shannon for all the work you put into
planning this event—it came together wonderfully. And thank you to your incredibly good-looking and easy-going friends and family for helping us to get great photos. And thank you Ryan
for your dance moves. I now have a sweet collection of photos with you being ridden
like a horse on the dance floor.
