In about two months Sunny and Bobby will be getting married at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly. We met up for a duel purpose trip of scouting the wedding location and taking engagement photos. Doing an engagement session is awesome because besides getting a bunch of fun casual photos, the couple gets a taste of how I work, how they look best together, and what to expect on their wedding day. Sunny and Bobby are already so comfortable with each other, so confident in themselves, and now we're comfortable taking photos together.
Along with the upcoming wedding photos you can expect to see more of this couple—I'm hoping to practice some car photos with their super hot Audi.
Over the past year Hotel Palomar in Rosslyn changed to Le Meridian, but it remains a really fun place for a wedding. Last week, Amanda and John were married at the elegant hotel. Rain threatened the ceremony so we were moved inside after grabbing our great patio shots, with phenomenal views of Georgetown and the Arlington skyscrapers. And we took some time to pose with a friend's beautiful Aston Martin downstairs.
After dinner, Amanda and John IMMEDIATELY got the party started on the dance floor and DJ Lauren Bobby, the best DJ in all the land, kept everyone moving for the rest of the night. John is an Irishman so it was extra fun having his family from Ireland there along with the Irish band, the Guinness, and some spontaneous step dancing.
I am a California photographer who transplanted myself to Washington, DC for a change in scenery. Not that the scenery in California is all that bad—but I'm hungry for new experiences, ideas, and inspiration. To see a complete portfolio go to http://www.nicholasdonner.com.
